Shepherd back in Cup at MIS UPDATE 2 Withdraws: This weekend Morgan Shepherd will make his return to Winston Cup. Shepherd Racing will bring out the #89 Ford Taurus for Shepherd’s return in the Sirius Satellite Radio 400, at Michigan International Speedway. Shepherd’s last run at Michigan in Winston Cup was in 1999 [actually it was in Aug 1998 in the #91]. The Shepherd Racing Ford will adorn the associate sponsors Pit Pass Magazine, Catchfence.com, MotorsportsWeb along with Racing With Jesus Ministries. He will attempt to qualify his #89 Ford for The Sirius Satellite Radio 400 at Michigan. The last Winston Cup event Shepherd competed in was on February 21, 1999 when he drove the #90 car owned by Junie Donlavey at North Carolina Speedway. A strong team effort was put forth to get the car ready and make it to the track, but not enough time to make the necessary adjustments to the car, required by NASCAR. “We had some weight and safety issues and just no time to correct them. This team has worked so hard for this and we were all looking forward to running in Winston Cup this weekend.” stated Shepherd. “I have to thank the great people of the Life X Program. They have helped so much and we are looking forward to working with them more in our races to come.
