Many of the Busch Series cars have a palm-sized white sticker saluting part-time Busch racer Andy Kirby, who died July19 in a motorcycle accident in Tennessee. The sticker says: In memory, Andy Kirby, 11-30-61, 7-18-02. Kirby was 36th in the Busch season standings and started 12 races this season. He drove the #77 car. His best finish this season was sixth at the Aaron’s 312 on April20 at Talladega Superspeedway. On the #16 car driven by Chad Chaffin, the sticker is a little larger than a football. “I worked for Andy’s granddaddy,” said #16 team owner Wayne Day.(The Gazette)(7-27-2002)
