Burton wins 3rd Darlington race in a row:

#9-Jeff Burton won the Gatorade 200 at Darlington, his third BGN race won in a row, after winning the rain soaked race which was shortened to 74 or 147 laps. Saturday’s Gatorade 200 was one lap from halfway – signifying the race as official – when NASCAR displayed the red flag for rain, which has wreaked havoc on the schedule all weekend. Burton’s #9 Ford was stopped less than 300 feet from the start/finish line, which would have given him his third consecutive BGN series victory at Darlington Raceway if he were allowed to complete the 74th of 147 scheduled laps. NASCAR wanted to see if it could wait out the weather, but when it became clear there was no chance to restart the race, the race resumed under caution to allow the teams to complete the 74th lap, handing Burton another win at Darlington. #57-Jason Keller finished second, #21-Jeff Green third, series points leader #60-Greg Biffle fourth and #24-Jack Sprague rounded out the top five.(ThatsRacin.com)
