Akins Motorsports announced Wednesday that Mark Green will drive its #38 Fords in the BGN for the remaining races this season and on a full-time basis in 2003. Green had been sharing time this season with driver Christian Elder, who was injured in a wreck at Chicagoland in July. Elder has left the series and plans to compete in the SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Series next season, will he will drive a BMW. “I came to Akins Motorsports to do a job helping Christian, building shocks and helping with the testing. I never even thought that this could turn out for me like it has,” Mark Green said. “This team has the best personnel and equipment I have been associated with since I started driving.
