Biffle in the #44 at the Rock: Greg Biffle will be substituting in the #44 Petty Enterprises entry at North Carolina Speedway on Nov. 3.(Roush Racing Site)(10-23-2002) UPDATE: The probable BGN champion will take another shot at the Cup Series in this week’ Pop Secret Popcorn 400 at the 1.017-mile North Carolina Speedway. Greg Biffle will drive the #44 Georgia-Pacific/Brawny Dodge for Petty Enterprises in the 400-mile race. He drove a Winston Cup car earlier this year in a relief role for Andy Petree Racing [#55], showing an ability to take the car towards the front. Were excited to have a driver with Greg’ ability and enthusiasm drive the Georgia-Pacific Dodge, said Kyle Petty, CEO of Petty Enterprises. Ted (Musgrave) did a really solid job for us at Atlanta and we appreciate that. We feel Greg is going to do very well for us at Rockingham, too. Musgrave drove the car last week at Atlanta, replacing Jerry Nadeau who has been injured in a private accident. There is a lot of history that surrounds Petty Enterprises and it’ a privilege to drive for them Biffle said. I appreciate the opportunity, and Im glad Im available to help out. Rockingham is a very technical track, and the extra track time in the Winston Cup car should help me out in the Busch car. The experience will also give me a jump start on my rookie season next year, especially since Rockingham is the second race of the season. Biffle leads the Busch standings by 119 points, and appears on his way to the championship before running Winston Cup full time for Roush Racing next season.
