#27-Jamie McMurray was in the right place at the right time and won as #21-Jeff Green and #99-Michael Waltrip tangled while fighting for the lead late in Saturday’s Sam’s Club 200 at North Carolina Speedway. McMurray jumped from third to the front for the victory. Green restarted first after a late-race red flag, then battled to hold off Waltrip as the laps wound down. The two touched and spun, opening the door for McMurray. It was McMurray’s second series win in a row. Points leader #60-Greg Biffle finished 2nd and now leads #57-Jason Keller in the Drivers Points by 212 points. With two races to go Biffle needs to finish 24th in the last two races (Phoenix and Homestead) or better and nothing Keller can do to win the championship. And if Biffle leaves Phoenix with a 185 point lead or better, he can skip Homestead (but of course will not). The remaining top five were #7-Randy LaJoie, #5-David Green and #59-Stacy Compton. #21-Green finished 6th and #99-Waltrip finished 8th.
