#57-Jason Keller ran out of fuel on the next-to-last lap while leading the Ford 300 at Homestead, allowing #23-Scott Wimmer to claim victory for his second consecutive win and fourth of the season. #36-Hank Parker Jr. ended up second, 1.112 seconds behind Wimmer. #87-Joe Nemechek was third, #60-Greg Biffle – who clinched the series championship last weekend at Phoenix – was fourth, and #25-Bobby Hamilton Jr. rounded out the top five. Biffle ended the season with a 264-point lead over Keller. The rest of the top-five in points: Wimmer, #18-Mike McLaughlin and #24-Jack Sprague. The race was slowed four times by caution for 19 laps.
