UPDATE 2: Entering its sixth season of BGN sponsorship in 2003, Dr Pepper will help support a Carroll Racing driver development initiative by splitting the driver duties between veteran Kevin Grubb and series newcomer Lance Norick. Grubb, 24, will drive the #26 Dr Pepper Dodge in 24 races of the 34-race schedule, with 34-year-old Norick in the drivers seat for 10 races. Dr Pepper will also be an associate sponsor on a second car (#90) Carroll Racing will enter in five BGN races with Norick behind the wheel. Last season was terrific for the Dr Pepper racing team, stated Cindi Clark, Dr Pepper senior vice president-marketing. We were competitive in most of the races, came close to winning a few and posted the best finish ever for a Dr Pepper team, a second place at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. The #26 car received terrific television exposure throughout the season and our special Spider-Man and Red Fusion paint schemes were the first thematic schemes we had ever created. There will be more of those in 2003, during what we anticipate will be another great season for Dr Pepper racing, Clark concluded. Racing the Dodge Intrepid for the first time, Carroll Racing didnt stop with a new car body. We have a new engine program, new drivers, news cars and an energized team that is confident about its chances for getting into victory lane in 2003.
