Tony Price has been named the interim crew chief for Jon Wood and the #50 Navy Racing team for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway next weekend. Price will stand-in for John Monsam while he serves his two-month NASCAR suspension following a penalty at Mesa Marin Raceway last month. Price has been with Roush Racing since the 2002 season. He worked on Jeff Burton’s Busch Series team, which made five trips to Victory Lane and won two poles in 2002. Currently, Price is the truck shop foreman. His role is to oversee the construction of every truck for both Wood and Carl Edwards. Price also worked for Roush Racing in 1986 and won several races as part of the road racing team based in Livonia, Mich. “I was one of the original people Jack hired when he decided to start a Winston Cup team in the 80’s,” Price said. “He wasn’t quite ready then, so I went up to Michigan and worked with the road racing teams for a year. We won 13 races in Trans-Am and IMSA that year. I left at the end of the year to pursue other interests in Winston Cup racing, but came back to Roush last year and won five more races with Jeff Burton and his Busch team.(Roush Racing PR)(4-2-2003)
