Some Martinsville Notes:

Martinsville is just one of two facilities on the schedule since 1995 without a repeat winner. The other venue with eight winners in eight races is The Milwaukee Mile. Farthest run to victory occurred in Advance Auto Parts 250: Forced to start 33rd in last year’s Martinsville race after his qualifying speed was disallowed due to a technical violation, #46-Dennis Setzer became just the second winner from a provisional start in series history. Setzer also set the record for the most positions gained by a series winner. Four of eight Martinsville winners have started from the front row but just one #9-Rich Bickle has won from the Bud Pole. Ultra Motorsports competitors #1-Ted Musgrave and Mike Wallace won two of the last three poles, finishing 24th and second. #33-Andy Petree qualified third for last year’s race and finished 14th at Mesa Marin. His APR team fielded Tony Stewart’s winning truck in 2002 at Richmond. Cup Series regulars #6-Kevin Harvick and #52-Ken Schrader, both series winners, also will compete at Martinsville. #28-L.W. Miller won last October’s NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series race at Martinsville Speedway.(NASCAR PR)(4-9-2003)
