McLaughlin to run Featherlite Modified at Nazareth:

“Magic Shoes” Mike McLaughlin will make his return to NASCAR Featherlite Modified racing this weekend at Nazareth Speedway, running the #21 Lombardi Inside Out/Rebuilders Automotive Chevy for champion car owner Art Barry in Sunday’s Service Electric 100. The car’s usual driver, Mike Stefanik, will be competing in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series event at Lake Erie Speedway on Sunday. While it’s been ten years since McLaughlin has strapped in behind the wheel of a Modified, McLaughlin is no stranger to this type of racing. He won the series’ championship in 1988 and the Waterloo, NY native has posted 16 Featherlite Modified Tour victories, tying him for seventh all-time with fellow New Yorker Steve Park. McLaughlin’s last victory came in 1993 at Thompson Speedway. Modified racing isn’t the only thing on McLaughlin’s list of things to do this weekend. He’ll also be practicing Todd Bodine’s #92 ESGR Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevy [Bodine will be in Charlotte for the Winston Open].(Nazareth Speedway PR)(5-14-2003)
