Winston Cup rookie Casey Mears and Busch Series rookie Lance Norick will be teammates this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway as both drivers will be behind the wheel for Braun Racing. Norick will be piloting the #30 Express Personnel Services Dodge and Mears will be driving the #19 Fujifilm Dodge. Mears has driven in two NASCAR Busch Series races earlier this year for Braun Racing as part of a deal with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates in order to get more seat time for the young driver. Mears is a Cup Series rookie of the year candidate and drives the #41 Target Dodge regularly on the Winston Cup circuit. Last year, he was a rookie in Busch Series, finishing the season 21st in points with one top-5 and two top-10 finishes. While Mears has experience with Braun and Chicago, Lance Norick is a rookie with both. Celebrating his independence under the lights at Daytona, Norick got his first start with Braun last week. After qualifying 19th, the team had a strong run going when a late race accident ended Norick’s chance at a Top-15 finish.(Braun Racing PR)(7-8-2003)
