In celebrating Allison’s legacy, Jamie McMurray’s #42 Havoline Dodge will sport a retro paint scheme that resembles the car Allison drove during his 1987 NASCAR Winston Cup Series rookie campaign. McMurray will pilot the specially painted car at Talladega Superspeedway on Sept. 28, 2003. “I am truly honored to have this opportunity to pay tribute and to remember the legacy that Davey left for the NASCAR community and fans,” McMurray said. “I can’t think of a better way to remember him than through this special paint scheme.
