The driver has made 12 starts in NASCAR’s top series, but this will be his first since the 2001 season, when he ran three races for Andy Petree Racing and seven for Morgan-McClure Motorsports. He qualified 18th fastest in the #35 Ford of Team Rensi, the same organization that fields Hamilton Jr.’s #25 Busch team. “We’re just testing the waters,” Hamilton Jr. said. “We’re trying to work on sponsorship to go (to Cup) in 2005 and we’re just trying to test and see what we need and where we can help ourselves.”( ThatsRacin.com )(10-4-2003)
