Shane Hall, idle most of this racing season, is scheduled to return in Friday night’s Little Trees 300 NASCAR Busch race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Hall is entered in a Ford owned by ppc Racing, which also fields the cars driven by series point contenders Jason Keller and Scott Riggs. Team general manager Keith Barnwell said the car is being prepared by ppc shop personnel. Scott Beam will be the crew chief. Barnwell said Hall might drive for the team in other races if this week’s venture is a positive one. “First, we’ve always been Shane Hall fans at ppc,” Barnwell said. “He has qualities that a lot of other drivers don’t have. And he’s a good qualifier. That’s important because we have to get in the top 36.” Since the third ppc team hasn’t raced this year, it has no provisional starting spots in case Hall doesn’t qualify in the top 36.(Greenville News)(10-8-2003)
