#7-Greg Biffle won the pole for the Aaron’s 312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a new track record speed of 192.300mph [the old record was Ryan Newman in 2001 at 191.661]. Rounding out the top five are #21-Kevin Harvick [who had sat on the pole most of the session, with a new track record], #37-David Green, #19-Casey Mears, and #5-Brian Vickers. Other championship contenders start: #10-Scott Riggs starts 16th, #2-Ron Hornaday starts 21st and #57-Jason Keller starts 26th.
