Robert Yates Racing announced today that Dale Jarrett has extended his contract to drive the #88 UPS Ford Taurus through the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season. Jarrett is in the process of wrapping up his ninth season with RYR, and his eighth as the driver of the #88 Robert Yates Racing Team. Jarretts contract extension insures that he and UPS will both be part of the #88 Robert Yates Racing Team through 2006. We couldnt be happier to have Dales contract done through 2006, said team owner Robert Yates. Weve had a great relationship with Dale Jarrett and its one we look forward to continuing. Dale and I started the #88 team together and I am lucky to still have him in the car. Dale and I both knew this contract extension was going to happen, it was just a matter of finding the time to sit down, putting everything out on paper and getting it signed. The biggest thing for everybody to understand is even though things have been difficult this year we werent about to give up on this team and our goals, Jarrett said.
