With nothing to lose, #25-Bobby Hamilton Jr. has thrown caution to the wind and put together the hottest of hot streaks in the last few weeks. The Nashville, Tenn., native has seven top-five finishes in the last 10 races, eight top 10s and two wins in the last three events, including the most recent, the Nov. 1 Bashas Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. Considering that he was in an accident on the last lap Oct. 4 at Kansas Speedway while going for the win, the streak is that much more impressive. Hes sixth in the NASCAR Busch Series driver standings, 125 points behind leader #10-Scott Riggs and 65 points behind fifth-place #57-Jason Keller. The championship is a long-shot, to be sure, but hes still going to give it a shot at North Carolina Speedway, and in the Nov. 15 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and let the chips fall where they may.(NASCAR PR)(11-6-2003)
