#2-Rusty Wallace took the blame for an accident last weekend at Phoenix International Raceway that started when he bumped Tony Stewart. The wreck has caused Wallace so much anxiety that he’s still not over it, he said at Rockingham. Wallace bumped Stewart in Turn 2, causing the two to slide up the track. As they slowed, Bobby Labonte and Kevin Harvick also piled in. “We had a pretty good car until I screwed up,” Wallace said. “I caused that whole damn mess myself. I sailed off into the corner at Phoenix, totally uncharacteristic of myself, and got in too deep. I got the front end pushing, and I bumped Tony.” Wallace said he would seek out Stewart this weekend. “I haven’t talked to Tony about it yet, but I will,” Wallace said Friday morning.( NASCAR.com )(11-8-2003)
