Rookie Tony Raines, running with the under-sponsored Bace Motorsports team, managed his best finish of the year, a seventh place after qualifying fourth. Speculation has run hot regarding Raines’ future, and he has been linked to rides with top owners. But Raines said he had had no offers and hoped to continue with Bace. “The racing industry is a funny sport, because when you’re up, they want to talk to you, and when you’re down, you can’t even bum a cigarette,” Raines said. “To do more with less is what we’ve been doing all year, and hopefully we can get more sponsorship and ramp up our program.”( Milwaukee Journal Sentinel )(11-10-2003)
