Gaughan Apology; Reffner injured?

from Brendan Gaughan [a PR]:” I would first like to say that my prayers are with Bryan Reffner and his family. Thank you for trying to miss! Second, congratulations to Travis and his entire team on a great and exciting season. Finally, I would like to apologize to my family, team, sponsors, NASCAR officials and, most importantly, to the fans for my use of improper language during my post care center interview. I have been close friends with Jim Smith since I was about 8 years old, and the comment was made more because of conversations leading up to Homestead. Marty Houston has been a friend since I began driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and I personally believe that Marty is a great race car driver. Although I was not aware that Bryan Reffner had even hit me, I refuse to use a head injury as an excuse for my actions and I take responsibility for my actions. I have been in many situations this year that my ability to act well under pressure was tested, such as the Richmond accident with Bobby Hamilton, and I was able to take the higher road.
To the families that watched, I deeply apologize and hope that you continue to watch what I personally feel is the most exciting and most fan friendly sport in the world, NASCAR.”
Thank You, Brendan Gaughan
(PR), Reffner dislocated 4 bones in his foot and will be in a cast for 6 weeks and doing fine.(11-18-2003)
