Eric Jones Resigns from Team EJP Racing:

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Eric Jones announced that he has departed Team EJP Racing to pursue other opportunities. Jones, a promising driver on the tour left the team today on a positive note and hopes that Team EJP Racing can continue their success in the future. Eric’s decision was brought about when he was notified two days before the NCTS Daytona test session last week that Geoffrey Bodine had brought sponsorship and would compete at Daytona. “Naturally, it was a disappointment for me, but Steve Prescott did what he felt he had to do to keep his team running,” stated Eric. “I couldn’t bring any funding to the team, so he had to make the driver change for Daytona,” Jones continued. We had discussions about running some other races, but ultimately, I think that leaving the team was the best decision for me. I wish Steve Prescott and Team EJP Racing the best of luck and appreciate the opportunity that they gave me this past season.” Jones is currently pursing other rides and interested parties can reach him via email at [email protected].(Eric Jones Racing PR via Catchfence)(1-15-2004)
