Former Busch Series driver Curtis Markham, now a spotter for Joe Gibbs Racing, tested JGR’s #18 Chevrolet Saturday in place of rookie J.J. Yeley. Markham, whose last competitive race was 2000 at Watkins Glen when Jeff Purvis was injured, gets back in the seat of a car on different occasions to test for JGR. “It’s a lot of fun, I’ve forgotten how much fun this really is,” said Markham, whose highest finish in the Busch Series standings as a regular was 11th in 1996. “But I know my place. I’m just out here trying to help out.”(Daytona Beach News Journal)(1-18-2004)
