Continental Fire Safety Inc. of Trenton, N.J., has announced plans to sponsor owner/driver Andy Belmont’s #59 Pontiac [yes, teams can still run a Pontiac, GM just doesn’t support them anymore, 2003 models are still legal] in Sunday’s Subway 400 at North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. Belmont, a regular competitor in the ARCA Re/Max Series, also plans to enter the March 7 UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Nextel Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.(NASCAR Scene Daily Newsletter)(2-19-2004)
