#8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Golden Corral 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway after a tough race at Las Vegas last week. Evernham Motorsports nosed out great finishes with #19-Jeremy Mayfield 2nd and rookie #9-Kasey Kahne 3rd [two 2nd’s and aa 3rd in the last three races]. It is Dale Jr.’s 11th career win, 2nd of 2004, and 5th non-restrictor plate win. The win moves Earnhardt Jr. up to 3rd in the points. #20-Tony Stewart led the most laps, with 127 and finished 7th. There were 8 leaders and 16 lead changes. Only three cautions in the race for 17 laps, two for debris and one for an engine.
