National City Corporation announced today its sponsorship of three NASCAR Busch Series races this season:
May 8 at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis, Missouri
July 10 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois
August 21 at Michigan Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan
“When it comes to winning the race in banking, National City’s success is linked to teamwork and collaboration,” said Karin Stone, National City senior vice president of marketing. “Just as pit crews look for fast-paced, competitive solutions, National City works diligently to deliver the best banking experience to every customer we serve. Having recently entered the St. Louis and Chicago markets, the NASCAR sponsorship provides National City with a unique opportunity to introduce our company to new customers through the increasingly popular auto racing industry. The fast-growing enterprise of DCT Motorsports is a good match for us,” explained Stone. National City will sponsor the DCT Motorsports “#36 Chevrolet.” Businessmen John McGill and Carl Natale own DCT Motorsports. Based in the heart of NASCAR country — Spartanburg, South Carolina – the DCT racing team is led by crew chief Ricky Pearson and general manager Steve Grissom. Grissom and talented rookie Travis Geisler are driving for the team this season, with Geisler slated to drive the National City events. “We are thrilled to have National City join us for these three races,” said McGill. “Having a company with their status and commitment to customer service become a part of our operation is exciting for DCT Motorsports.”(Williams Company PR)(5-7-2004)
