Nextel Cup driver Kasey Kahne will skip the Milwaukee and Pikes Peak Busch Series races with his Akins Motorsports team to concentrate his efforts on his Cup team those weekends, team officials confirmed Thursday. A substitute driver for Kahne in those Busch races has not been named as yet. Kahne originally planned to run the entire Busch and Cup schedules this season. In addition, Akins plans to use World of Outlaws star Tyler Walker, 24, to run practices and qualify the #38 Dodge in next weekends race at Nashville.
