Penalties assessed:

Busch Series crew chiefs Jay Guy, Scott Riefner, Kevin Payne, Julian Burgess and Larry Shore were issued fines for rules violations that occurred during the race weekend of the July 2 event at Daytona International Speedway,

Guy, crew chief of the #14 Chevrolet for driver Casey Atwood, and Riefner, crew chief of the #12 Chevrolet for driver Tim Fedewa, were each fined $2,500 for violating Section 12-4-A (Actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 12-4-Q (Any determination by NASCAR Officials that parts and/or equipment used in the Event do not conform to NASCAR rules) of the NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book for unapproved rear spoilers.

Shore, crew chief of the #71 Chevrolet for driver Kevin Lepage, Payne, crew chief of the #68 Chevrolet for driver Rick Markle, and Burgess, crew chief of the #96 Chevrolet for driver Shane Hall, were each issued $250 fines for violating Section 12-4-A (Actions
detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 17.2-C (Seat belts manufacturer’s date expired) of the NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book. All of the infractions were found by NASCAR officials during opening-day inspection.(NASCAR PR)(7-9-2004)
