Team Rensi Motorsports owner Sam Rensi told Sirius Speedway /Sirius Satellite/MRN Radio host Dave Moody Wednesday that Dodge has vetoed his decision to put Jeff Green in the Team Marines #25 Ford for the remainder of the 2004 season. “Dodge didn’t like that deal,” said Rensi, “so we’ll have Mike McLaughlin in the car this weekend at Bristol.” The #25 owner also responded to comments by Bobby Hamilton, Jr., who called his recent dismissal, “just a cheap way to get rid of me,” and added, “they still owe me money and I’m going to get paid.” Rensi said his team “plan(s) to honor all commitments in that area.” Rensi also disputed Hamilton’s claims of an uncomfortable atmosphere surrounding the team since he and crewchief Harold Holly announced plans to leave, saying, “I can only comment on 50-percent of that equation, but I haven’t seen any of it. Harold apparently isn’t too uncomfortable, since he is staying on for the remainder of the season.”(Sirius Speedway /Sirius Satellite/MRN), no word who will be in the #25 at California and beyond. McLuaghlin has 6 career Busch wins in 302 starts. His last Busch race was at New Hampshire in July 2003.(8-25-2004)
