UPDATE – Rusty Wallace announces 2nd Busch team: Rusty Wallace Inc. announced on Friday at Phoenix International Raceway the signing of Miller High Life to the #64 Dodge in 2005. The car will be driven by Jeremy Mayfield for 17 races. Top Flite will also sponsor the car and will be driven by Jamie McMurray in other events. Wallace’s original team, the #66, will continue to run but a driver has yet to be named. Wallace also said that as of now, he plans on making the trip to Mexico City as the driver. Since it is a standalone Busch event, none of his sponsors have yet decided to jump on board for that weekend.(BGNRacing.com)(11-5-2004)
Mayfield: Rusty Wallace Inc. (RWI) announces a new addition to their Busch Series team for the 2005 season. RWI will join forces with Miller’s signature Champagne of Beers, Miller High Life, for 17 events on the 35-race schedule. Wallace, who has a long-standing relationship with Miller Brewing Company, has signed on NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Jeremy Mayfield to pilot the #64 Miller High Life Dodge for the limited NBS schedule.
McMurray: The Top-Flite Golf Company announced it will serve as the primary sponsor of RWI Racing’s #64 Dodge for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver Jamie McMurray in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2005. The new black, red and white TOP-FLITE car was unveiled today at Phoenix International Raceway. McMurray will officially fire up the TOP-FLITE Dodge at California Speedway on February 26, 2005. Under his new sponsorship agreement, McMurray will race for RWI Racing LLC, the NASCAR team owned by racing legend Rusty Wallace an avid golfer who plays Callaway Golf equipment and represents Callaway Golf branded and Odyssey licensed products.
