Atlanta Motor Speedway officials announced that World Financial Group will sponsor the new Friday night, March 18 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. The event, which will follow Georgia Power Qualifying Night for the NEXTEL Cup Series race, will be called the World Financial Group 200. The World Financial Group 200 will be part of the new spring weekend format that will include NASCAR’s three premier racing series: Craftsman Truck, Busch and NEXTEL Cup. World Financial Group began its foray into NASCAR racing this fall, sponsoring the American Speed Association race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in October, as well as Carl Edwards’ #99 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup car for several races. Tickets are on sale now for all three days of racing excitement during the March 18-20 Golden Corral 500 weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The weekend kicks off with Georgia Power Qualifying Night and the new World Financial Group 200 on Friday, March 18. The action heats up on Saturday, March 19, for the Aaron’s 312, showcasing top racing veterans and some of the hottest up-and-coming drivers in the country. The weekend will culminate on Sunday, March 20, with the running of the Golden Corral 500.
