DGN Racing announces return of Busch Series driver Donnie Neuenberger to the 2005 Daytona Speedweeks events competing in the Hershey’s TAKE 5 300. Neuenberger returns to the Daytona events after taking a medical leave of absence in 2004 due to his diagnose and treatment for Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. A Charity Program for Children diagnosed with terminally ill diseases and Cancer was developed by Donnie to provide support to children while they are undergoing treatment. As a cancer patient himself it will enable Donnie to give support to children for a memorable special day. An upcoming sponsored event will support 250 children at Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. with an autographed 1/24 scale die cast car, time to talk with Donnie and where possible have the children actually sit in a racecar.
“I am currently in partial remission and will continue a maintenance program over the next two years. I like a challenge and will continue to compete in a limited schedule while promoting and working with our Charity Program. It’s exciting to join the #72 MacDonald MotorSports program for the Daytona race. We bring our associate sponsors to join Pray for Our Troops.”
“I would like to send out a special thank you for all the support and prayers I received during my break. I look forward to getting back to the race track, my race family, fans, and driving.” said Neuenberger.
