GIC Racing team owners James Whitener and Gregg Mixon have chosen Scott Gaylord to pilot the #7 for Friday night’s running of the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at the Phoenix International Raceway. Gaylord, a native of Lakewood, Colo., is a veteran in the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series. He entered the series in 1998 and since then has tallied 68 Top 10s and 29 Top 5s, including seven Top-10 finishes at Phoenix International Raceway. Last year at PIR, Gaylord added two Top-10 finishes to his resume, including a second-place finish in the November event. Gaylord has taken the green flag at PIR more than any other driver in the NGNW Series. He has competed in 10 stand-alone West Series events, and also in seven combination races with NASCAR’s premier series at PIR. Kim Crosby will return to the #7 Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Chevrolet for the Aaron’s 312 at the Talladega Superspeedway, scheduled for April 30.(PSE-3)(4-21-2005)
