Effective today, Teddy Brown, crew chief for the # 34 Frank Cicci racing team has decided to pursue additional racing opportunites. Although the driver and crew chief were both pleased with the positive direction that the team had accomplished, Brown’s decision was made for the best interest of the team at their early building stages. AND: Car Chief Wayne Carroll has been appointed Crew Chief on an interim basis for the #34 Dollar General Chevys of veteran driver Randy LaJoie in the NASCAR Busch Series. Carroll succeeds Teddy Brown who is no longer with the organization. The 36-year-old Carroll had served as Car Chief for Reiser Enterprises and the Busch Series cars of Matt Kenseth before moving over to the Frank Cicci Racing with Jim Kelly operation in Mooresville, North Carolina last December. Prior to his tenure at Reiser Enterprises, Carroll had served in a similar post for Michael Waltrip, Inc. and Waltrip’s Busch Series machines. He has also worked on the teams of drivers Geoff Bodine and the late Blaise Alexander since moving south from his native Springfield, Massachusetts. “We are fortunate to have someone with the level of experience that Wayne has to step into such an important position at this juncture of the season”, Cicci said. “Our performance after 12 races has been mixed, and we believe that Wayne has the ability and leadership qualities that we need to get the most out of our equipment and personnel in an effort to get us to the next level.” Carroll’s first event as Crew Chief will be the CarQuest Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, NC on Saturday, May 28.(Frank Cicci Racing PR)(5-24-2005)
