Travis Geisler parts ways with DCT Motorsports:

NASCAR Busch Series driver Travis Geisler announced Monday that he has parted ways with DCT Motorsports effectively immediately. Geisler, a native of Cranberry Twp, PA, competed in 12 events for DCT Motorsports in 2004 with seven Top-25 finishes and worked full-time for the team. This season Geisler was slated to again run a limited schedule with DCT Motorsports. “As this season has developed, John and Nancy McGill have become more interested in DCT’s position in the points standings than in the past and having two drivers did not align with that goal in the short-term,” said Geisler. “They asked me to continue to be a part of the team for the future, but I did not feel that I could effectively pursue my driving career goals and still give 100% at DCT Motorsports, which wouldn’t be fair to John and Nancy or the rest of the team. Working in the shop full-time has taught me a lot about the NASCAR Busch Series that I believe has made me a better driver and teammate. Leaving the team was a difficult decision, but I leave feeling confident that my contributions made a difference and those that were watching saw my commitment to doing whatever was necessary to advance my driving career. Now, it is time for me get back behind the wheel.” Geisler, a mechanical engineering graduate from Vanderbilt University added, “I wish nothing but the best for the team in their future endeavors. I’m excited about some of the opportunities that have been presented to me recently and I hope to announce something in the near future.” Anyone interested in contacting Travis Geisler can reach him at www.travisgeisler.com.(5-24-2005)
