WIX Filters has signed on as an associate sponsor of Evernham Motorsports’ #91 NEXTEL Cup Series and #79 Busch Series race teams for four races in 2005. WIX’s associate sponsorship will be in effect during the four races in which the #91 and #79 cars display the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper paint scheme. Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper,units of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc. (the Alliance), are longtime WIX Filters customers. The Alliance has contracted with Evernham Motorsports to provide primary sponsorship of the #91 car during two NEXTEL Cup Series races and the #79 car for two Busch Series races. The Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper paint scheme will be on the #91 Dodge Charger driven by NASCAR legend Bill Elliott in the NEXTEL Cup Series races at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 21 and at Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 6. Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper also will sponsor the #79 Dodge Charger during two Busch Series races. Kasey Kahne, last year’s NEXTEL Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year, will drive the #79 car at New Hampshire International Speedway on July 16. Jeremy Mayfield, a contender in the inaugural Chase for the NEXTEL Cup Championship, will drive the #79 car on Oct. 14 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. As part of the sponsorship agreement with WIX, the #1 Filter in NASCAR, the #91 and #79 Evernham race teams will display the WIX Filters logo decal in a highly visible location just in front of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper cars’ rear tires.
