Gordon wins pole at Infineon Raceway:

#24-Jeff Gordon won the Budweiser Pole for the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway with a new track qualifying record of 94.325mph [the old record was from June 2004 by Gordon at 94.303]. Gordon was the only driver to run faster then the track record. It is Gordon’s 5th pole at Infineon Raceway, 2nd of 2005, 7th road course pole and 54th career pole. #48-Jimmie Johnson will start 2nd, followed by #6-Mark Martin, #36-Boris Said and #7-Robby Gordon. 2nd in drivers points, #16-Greg Biffle, got off-course on his lap and will start 41st. Missing the race were: #02-Brandon Ash; #37-Kevin Lepage; #52-Jose Luis Ramirez, #66-Johnny Bornemann III, #92-Stanton Barrett.
