Brian Tyler, a two-time USAC Sprint Car Champion, will be returning to his former hometown and IRP to run in the NASCAR Busch Series Kroger 200 on Saturday night. Tyler will be driving the Eagle Castle Winery #80 Chevrolet for Rich Woodland Racing. Eagle Castle Winery of Paso Robles, CA will be making its first sponsorship into the NASCAR Busch Series. The newly constructed winery is already known for producing award winning Merlots and Syrahs. “We want to thank Eagle Castle Winery for partnering up with Rich Woodland Racing,” said RWR team owner and former Busch Series competitor Rich Woodland. “We’re introducing a competitive winery into the competitive arena of motorsports, and I hope we’ll be able to shine as well as Eagle Castle’s award winning wines this weekend at IRP,” added Woodland. While this will be Tyler’s first NASCAR Busch Series appearance of 2005, the Parma, MI native has been busy driving USAC Sprint Cars, Silver Crown Cars, and in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. “I guess I had to move to Charlotte to get more rides in the Midwest,” said Tyler, who is a veteran of the Indy Racing League. “My wife and kids have enjoyed the travel this summer, though it’s been tough to keep up with the lawn back home. We’ve had some good runs at Toledo and Berlin in the ARCA cars, and Calvin Humphries (crew chief) is hopeful that we’re able to transfer what we’ve learned at those races into our Busch car,” said Tyler who finished second in the ARCA race at Berlin.(Rich Woodland Racing PR)(8-5-2005)
