In celebration of the back-to-school season, Office Depot, the primary sponsor for Nextel Cup driver Carl Edwards’ No. 99 Ford, has provided 99 race tickets for underprivileged area children. Edwards’ car is sporting a “Back to School” paint scheme for today’s race, with a bumper-sticker sized sponsorship added to the trunk which reads, “Proud Partner of the National PTA.” The 99 area children are from Schuyler Outreach, a nonprofit organization that provides food and financial assistance to low-income families. “Education is so important and it’s really neat that our sponsor is recognizing that,” said Edwards. “This is only my third road course race (and first here) and I’m hopeful that the special paint scheme will bring us a little luck this weekend.”(Elmira Star-Gazette)(8-14-2005)
