Ryan Newman recently said he would like to see NASCAR change the points system next year to award points for qualifying. NASCAR chairman Brian France scoffed at that notion while visiting TMS last month. “If I won 35 poles [actually 32] like he has I would say that too,” France said. “No, we’re not going to do that.
