Johnson wins pole at Lowe’s:

#48-Jimmie Johnson won the pole for the Dollar General 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with a track record lap of 187.735mph. #39-Ryan Newman, going for his record 5th win in a row, will start 2nd [also track record], followed by #57-Kyle Busch, #41-Reed Sorenson and #58 Regan Smith [this dude is the real deal]. Points leader, #8-Martin Truex Jr. will start 14th, while #2-Clint Bowyer, 2nd in points [by 49] will start 9th. #81-Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes the race using a past champions provisional. Missing the race were: #0-Kertus Davis [wrecked on his 2nd lap], #15-Michel Jourdain Jr., #99-Michael Waltrip [4th miss of the year], #49-Steve Grissom [Dalr Jr. took his champ prov spot he usualy uses], #23-Mark Green and #67-Johnny Benson. #26-Kim Crosby withdrew before qualifying. #5-Adrian Fernandez and #25-Aston Lewis Jr. both crashed and will go to backup cars.
