This weekend’s Busch Series race will be the first time in history that father and son, Sterling and Steadman Marlin, will compete against each other in one of NASCAR’s three elite divisions. The 25-year-old from Columbia, Tenn. will make his third start at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the #12 HOT TAMALES Dodge. He has an average start of 36.5 and an average finish of 35.5, with a track best finish of 32nd (05/24/03). Steadman Marlin last ran in the Busch Series in 2003. He’s been helpful to me this week. He told me that the new surface at Lowe’s pushes a lot. He said that it was rougher than a 40-acre corn field.
