Travis Geisler to make 2005 debut at Memphis:

Travis Geisler will be making his 2005 Busch Series debut this weekend in the 72 Denver Mattress Co. Chevy. Last season Geisler ran a limited schedule in the NASCAR Busch series making 12 starts for #36 DCT Motorsports. Geisler has one start at Memphis Motorsports Park in a Busch Series car. He started 27th last fall and finished 21st. Geisler also made one NASCAR Southeast Series start at Memphis Motorsports Park in 2002, where he started 23rd and finished 13th in his NASCAR Touring Series debut. Geisler and the #72 team tested at Memphis on October 11th in preparation for this event. Andy Belmont and team owner Randy MacDonald will work together to call the shots this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park. Belmont is a long-time veteran driver in the ARCA Series. Geisler and Belmont worked together in the past. In 2003, Belmont gave Geisler the opportunity to race one of his ARCA cars at South Boston Speedway. Geisler prepared the car, but jointly called the race with Belmont, who was racing his own vehicle at the time. This odd strategy led to a successful ARCA debut for Geisler as he qualified 11th and finished 6th. This is the first of two races Geisler hopes to run in the NASCAR Busch Series for MacDonald Motorsports. He is planning on piloting the #72 Chevrolet at Phoenix International Raceway.(PR)(10-18-2005)
