Points leader, #8-Martin Truex Jr. won the pole for the Sam’s Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park with a lap of 119.867mph. It is Truex’s 3rd pole of the season. The rest of the top-5 are: #1-Johnny Sauter, #58-Regan Smith, #11-Paul Menard and #66-Aaron Fike. 2nd in points, #2-Clint Bowyer wrecked in qualifying on his 2nd lap, but the team made repairs to the car so no backup, his 1st lap was good for 16th starting spot, but will still have to fall to the rear of the field before the start of the race as they worked on the car after qualifying during the impound. #-Bill Elliott qualified 6th, #38-AJ Foyt IV will start 31st in his first Busch Series race. Ten drivers missed the race: #86 Marc Mitchell; #04 Eric McClure; #23 Mark Green; #72 Travis Geisler; #91 Charlie Bradberry; #99 Kerry Earnhardt; #80 Brian Tyler; #24 Mike Harmon; #16 Justin Ashburn; #91 Brad Teague.
