This coming weekend, #7-Robby Gordon will run the Baja 1000 in Mexico, a race he’s won twice. He’ll have Busch Series regular (and DEI driver) Paul Menard practice and qualify his #7 Chevy on Saturday for Sunday’s Nextel Cup race at Homestead with Gordon racing in the race in on Sunday. Updates about Robby at Baja on the Robbygordon.com site, Friday and Saturday. Supposedly Gordon will be back to run the car, but during Speed Channel’s practice coverage, it was mentioned that if Menard practices and qualifies well, Gordon may let Menard race the car on Sunday.
UPDATE 13th Robby Gordon finished 13th in the Trophy Truck division crossing the finish line at 5:06 a.m. Bob Shepard led the trucks to the line while Larry Roeseler won the overall in a class one car. Gordon averaged 34.944 mph for the 708 mile race. The team suffered two broken shocks. Gordon was out on course for 20h:17m. The winning Trophy Truck time was 15h:48m. Gordon will be at Homestead and will run the #7 Jim Beam Chevy in the race.(11-18/20-2005)
