SPEED Channel will elevate its coverage of the final event in the NASCAR Chase for the NEXTEL Cup with a week’s worth of at-track and off-site programming from South Florida, culminating with a four-hour live pre-race package Nov. 20 beginning at 11:00am/et. In addition to multiple live programs from the track, Speed Channel also will bring several of its studio shows to Miami, embracing the city’s personality and style.
Backseat Drivers (Wed, Nov. 16, 7pm/et) with NASCAR.com’s Marty Smith and Shannon Spake will be shot on-location at a Miami-area sports bar, The Chase is On (Nov. 17, 8pm/et) with Ralph Sheheen and 1999 Cup champion Dale Jarrett will set up shop poolside at the Sheraton Bal Harbour and the crew from NASCAR Nation will soak up the star-studded nightlife of South Beach with NASCAR Nation On Location on Nov. 19 at 9pm/et. Monday’s popular Inside NEXTEL Cup with Dave Despain, Michael Waltrip, Ken Schrader and Brian Vickers also will be shot on location at Homestead.
On-track coverage will be highlighted by live coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season finale Nov. 18 at 8pm/et. Speed plans 20 hours of programming from South Florida, up from 14 hours a year ago.(Speed Channel)(11-15-2005)
