#11-Denny Hamlin won the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway, the first time in Bud Shootout history that a rookie won the event. #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 2nd with a late race pass of #20-Tony Stewart, then #10-Scott Riggs [after getting the lucky dog pass] and #48-Jimmie Johnson. The race ended under a green-white-checker finish after a late caution. Pole sitter #21-Ken Schrader finished 14th after leading 18 of the first 20 laps. There were 14 lead changes by 9 drivers and 3 cautions for 13 caution laps. #55-Michael Waltrip, who started 21st/last and has been slow since unloading, was strong in the race and led 11 laps before finishing 11th.
