Drivers NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitors David Reutimann and Timothy Peters visited elementary schools in North Carolina and Tennessee this week to help students celebrate the National Education Associations Read Across America Day. The annual observance, begun in 1968, coincides with the March 2 birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. Reutimann, the series 2004 Raybestos Rookie of the Year, visited Troutman (N.C.) Middle School on Wednesday where he appeared before the Golden Mind Assembly for 100 students recognized for exceptional grades. On Thursday, Peters, driver of the #4 BHR Dodge, visited Bordeaux Enhanced Option Elementary in downtown Nashville where many of the students come from low-income families and foster homes.
