Gordon hopes to run ‘double’ again soon:

Robby Gordon told Sirius Speedway (MRN Radio/Sirius Satellite Radio) that the door is not closed on a driver running both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day, and that he is considering attempting the Indy/Charlotte double next season. “They changed the starting time for the Indy 500, but Indianapolis also changed time zones,” he said. “It’s still possible for someone to do both, and I may try it again next year. I’ve come close to winning the Indy 500 before, and it’s still a goal of mine at some point in my career. But I’m not interested in `doing the double’ just for the sake of doing it. I want to be competitive in both races, with a chance to win. I’m not interested in riding around Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the middle of the pack. If I can’t be compeitive and have a chance to win, I won’t do it.”(MRN Radio/Sirius Satellite Radio)(5-27-2006)
