Nextel Cup Series rookie David Stremme will drive the #40 Coors Light Dodge in the ARCA/ReMax event on Saturday, June 10 at Pocono Raceway. “I am looking forward to running the ARCA Race in Pocono,” Stremme said. “This will be my first time at Pocono and so the more seat time the better. I am excited that Chip Ganassi and Felix Sabates are giving me the chance to race the ARCA race and get familiar with the track. It is great to see Coors Light on the car, they have been a great sponsor for me this season on the Cup car and I appreciate all the support they have given me in my rookie season.” The ARCA 200 is scheduled to start at 1:00pm/et and will be broadcast LIVE on SPEED Channel.(Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates PR)(6-6-2006)
UPDATE: on the pole: Stremme won the pole for today’s ARCA Pocono 200, posting a lap of 163.660 mph, and it’s a good thing in that he’s driving one of his Nextel Cup cars, just with a different spoiler and different tires, while everyone else is driving lesser equipment. ”If I don’t win, I’ll probably be in big trouble,” said Stremme, who’s competing in the ARCA race simply to get seat time at Pocono where he’s never raced before. ”Taking nothing away from the guys that run the ARCA Series, but this is actually one of my Cup cars.”(Allentown Morning Call)(6-10-2006)
